AWE Art Classes in Brooklyn, NY
AWE is a supportive inclusive studio environment for teens to make art.
The goal of AWE is to give the young artist the opportunity to make art that isn’t compromised by space limitations or a time frame. We encourage long-term projects and taking chances. We teach technique and problem-solving. We emphasize personal growth and expression through art. AWE is located at 54 Pearl Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn, known for its gorgeous views of the Manhattan Skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge Park, and the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. The studio is about 1,400 square feet, has three windows and a skylight.
AWE offers three programs during the year:
• AWE PORTFOLIO is an after school class held in the fall. Middle School classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 pm. High school classes are held on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 pm.
• AWE AFTER SCHOOL is just like the portfolio class except it’s held in the winter/spring. Middle School classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 pm. High School classes are held on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 pm.
• AWE SUMMER has seven weekly sessions of art-making. Classes are 9:00-3:00 pm. Session 1 is only four days due to the July 4th holiday. A student can attend one or up to three weeks.
